On 2nd April 2022, India and its cricket fans celebrated the 11th anniversary of their second World Cup victory. 11 years ago, India beat Sri Lanka on the same day to lift their second World Cup title after 28 long years. That six from MS Dhoni on the bowling of Nuwan Kulasekara still stays afresh in the memory of 1.5 billion Indians. From then onwards, MS Dhoni was termed as the best-ever finisher India produced.

Dhoni's inning of 91* is counted as one of the best World Cup innings and he was also named the 'Man of the Match' for that knock. But there was one more fabulous knock that saved India from a batting collapse and that came from the bat for Gautam Gambhir. The southpaw scored a well-calculated 97 to bail India out of trouble after they lost both Sachin and Sehwag early in the innings.

Time and again since that World Cup victory whenever someone has credited MS Dhoni for that win over Sri Lanka, Gautam Gambhir has reminded everyone that it was the team that won the game and not an individual. The same happened on the 11th anniversary of the event when Yuvraj Singh called MS Dhoni the 'man of finals'. In reply to Yuvraj, Gambhir first called Yuvi the 'Man of the tournament' and then cleared that it was "teamwork".

What exactly happened?

Gautam Gambhir shared a couple of pictures (one with him in focus and the other one was from the team celebration post the victory) and wrote "That feeling of fulfilling the dream of a billion people! It was a magical evening!" In this post from GG, Yuvraj left a comment "The man of the finals! 2011 2007".  Seeing this comment from Yuvraj Singh, Gambhir could not stop himself from saying for the nth time that it was a result of teamwork. "And you the man of the tournament! All about teamwork brother," replied Gambhir to Yuvraj Singh.
