Mbappe and Neymar

Mbappe and Neymar had an argument over the order of penalty kick takers

Paris Saint-Germain have started their new Ligue 1 campaign with two dominating victories over Clermont Foot and Montpellier on August 7 and 14, respectively. However, during their second league game of the season against Montpellier, PSG forwards Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe were involved in a dispute over penalty on Sunday.

PSG thrashed Montpellier 5-2 at the Parc des Princes with the Frenchman and the Brazilian both found the back of the net as Mbappe scored one goal after missing a first-half penalty while Neymar scored a brace including a penalty.

During the first-half of Sunday's game, the 23-year-old French forward missed a chance to take PSG's lead to 2-0 over Montpellier as he failed to score a penalty. Few minutes later, Mbappe won another penalty for Paris and wanted to take it but Neymar took the kick from the spot and scored the second goal for his team. Later, Mbappe even pulled out of an attacking move as he was visibly bothered by Vitinha not passing him the ball.

This penalty incident arose a dispute between the star duo of PSG as Kylian Mbappe was seen upset throughout the game and reportedly things became so intense between the two in the dressing room that Sergio Ramos had to intervene in the matter.

Kylian Mbappe, who snubbed Spanish giants Real Madrid to sign a contract extension with PSG, is supposedly annoyed by the club as he didn't receive the status promised by the leaders after being the second-choice penalty taker in the team. Neymar has also taken the dispute on social media as he liked posts criticizing his teammate.

PSG will be hoping the dispute between its two star forwards to settle before their third Ligue 1 fixture against Lille on August 22 at the Stade Pierre Mauroy.
