Denver Nuggets centre Nikola Jokic has won NBA's Most Valuable Player for a second consecutive season, according to recent reports. Sources also report that the NBA will make a formal announcement in the coming week. Jokic had a better statistical year than last year as he averaged career highs of 27.1 points and 13.8 rebounds per game. He also put up 7.9 assists which is the eighth-best in the league. Jokic even created his record as he became the first player in NBA history with 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in a season.

The Joker this season once again without his two co-stars as point guard Jamal Murray was sidelined for the entire season as he is recovering from a torn ACL. While Michael Porter Jr. played only nine games as he suffered a back injury. Despite that, Denver was still able to make the playoffs as the fifth seed in the western conference.

"It would be nice, but if it happens, happens," Joker

In a recent interview with ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, Nikola Jokic has talked about possibly winning the MVP for the second year running. Jokic said, “I mean, I never dream about it. It's something that if it happened, it's a great thing of course.”

“It's something that probably legacy, my name is always going to be there. But if I don't get it, I'm not going to die. ... It would be nice, but if it happens, happens,” he continued.

“I think if [the] offer is on the table, of course, I'm going to accept it," Jokic

The Joker also discussed the chance to sign a supermax deal with the Denver Nuggets worth $254 million over five years. “I would like it, of course," Jokic said. "But it's not something that I'm deciding. I think if [the] offer is on the table, of course, I'm going to accept it because I really like the organization, I really like the people who works here. I'm in [a] really good relationship with everybody from [the] owner to equipment manager.”
