As the world gears up for one of the most intense and heated cricket rivalries, in a news that could shock a section of the cricket fans, it is learned that there would be no other "Mauka Mauka" advertisements ahead of the Asia Cup 2022. In fact, Indian Broadcasters Star Sports may not make any further advertisements from the famous series which was first aired before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

India's humiliating 10-wicket defeat to arch-rivals Pakistan in their T20 World Cup 2021 face-off might have prompted the decision. While the advertisement revolved around India's 100 per cent record against the Men in Green in World Cup matches, things took a turn at the Dubai International Stadium last year as the Indian squad faced a one-sided defeat against Pakistan.

"The broadcasters have decided not to continue with the campaign as India suffered a humiliating defeat against the Men in Green in the previous encounter," a report in Pakistan Cricket stated.

While the two teams will meet at the T20 World Cup 2022, the South Asian neighbouring countries will also meet at least twice in the Asia Cup 2022 with a change in format. The first India and Pakistan match is scheduled on August 28 and the two teams might meet again in the Super 4 round on August 4 before a possible meeting in the finals of the tournament.

After the battle for the Asian Supremacy is settled, the two teams will again meet in the T20 World Cup 2022 with their match set to happen on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
