“No Messi, No Party” – Fans troll PSG after club’s heavy 0-3 loss to AS Monaco in Ligue 1

After PSG were knocked out of UEFA Champions League, Lionel Messi was booed and whistled in club’s subsequent league game against Bordeaux at home. The Argentine star helped his side to 3-0 win in that match but failed to score any goal. Unfortunately, he was ruled out of PSG’s away game against AS Monaco on Sunday due to a flue and his absence finally reflected his importance.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side looked absolutely clueless in the middle with so much lack of creativity in the side, in absence of Lionel Messi. AS Monaco deservingly went on to clinch an impressive 3-0 victory, handing the Ligue 1 leaders a humiliating defeat. In no time, ‘No Messi’ was trending on Twitter as football fans trolled PSG on Sunday.

As expected, the netizens came up with some epic tweets on social media to mock the PSG fans who booed Lionel Messi in the previous home game. ‘No Messi, No Party’ was the common phrase being used by people who were highlighting the fact that PSG scores goals only because of the fact that the Argentine star creates chances for other players.

Although Messi only has 2 goals to his name in Ligue 1, the netizens were quick to point out that his 11 assists have been key for PSG this season. He has been influential for the club in the middle of field helping his side to maintain possession and eventually create chances, something which everyone realized on Sunday considering how the club struggled in absence of Lionel Messi.
