German giant Bayern Munich has finally completed the much-anticipated signing of Senegal forward Sadio Mane from Liverpool, on a three-year contract. Bayern had reportedly agreed on a transfer worth about 40 million euros ($42.10 million), including add-ons for the forward, who had a year left on his Liverpool contract.

The Senegal winger was one of the most prominent stars in Jurgen Klopp's rejuvenation period of Liverpool, having scored 120 goals in 269 appearances in all competitions. FC Bayern President, Herbert Hainer, welcomed the star forward to the club and said Mane's arrival will glorify the German league.

"He is a global star, who underlines the appeal of FC Bayern and will increase the attractiveness of the Bundesliga as a whole. Fans come to the stadiums to witness the greatness of such players. It’s an honour and we are privileged that our board led by Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidžić have managed to rope in a player like Sadio Mané for FC Bayern," Hainer said.

Commenting on his new association, Sadio Mane expressed his happiness by stating that he showed keen interest in joining this great club from the beginning. "I never had any doubt. I’m really happy to finally be at FC Bayern in Munich. It’s the right time for this challenge," he said. He further claimed that he wants to achieve a lot of things with this club.

"During my time in Salzburg I watched a lot of Bayern games - I really like this club!" Mane said. Mane became Bayern's third signing of the close season, following the arrivals of Ajax Amsterdam duo Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazrouai. Last season Sadio Mane collected the EFL Cup and FA Cup, as well as being a runner-up in the Champions League and Premier League.
