The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is into its business end with only a few league games left. Tuesday evening (17 May) saw Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beating five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) to keep their Playoff hopes alive. The Kane Williamson-led team beat MI in a thriller by three runs.

After scoring a mammoth 193/6 in their 20 overs, SRH kept their nerves to defend it despite some sensational batting from MI batters. Umran Malik played a crucial role in SRH’s defence as the pacer bagged three wickets in his three overs. For his valiant effort, Malik was featured in the post-match video for top performers in the game along with Bhuvneshwar.

The Indian Premier League’s official social media handle shared the video on their account. But there was a huge mistake in the caption which probably went unnoticed. The admin of the page had tagged a fake account of Umran Malik while sharing the video. While many did not notice the blunder, a user pointed it out and requested fans to report that account.

“Unfortunate that even the official handle of @IPL is tagging a fake ID of #UmranMalik. I just confirmed from him that this is a fake profile. There are some disturbing tweets from it as well, leading to chaos as some media houses are also taking them up. Please report it,” tweeted the user.

Umran Malik and Bhuvneshwar Kumar save SRH

Now coming to the performance of the two players featured in the video by IPL. Both Umran Malik and Bhuvneshwar Kumar did what they do best to save their team from a sixth consecutive loss. While Malik bagged three crucial wickets to derail MI’s chase, Bhuvneshwar Kumar brought back SRH in the game with a wicket-maiden over in the 19th over.

Kumar put on an exhibition of death-bowling as the right-arm quick nailed yorkers against Jasprit Bumrah. He also dismissed Sanjay Yadav with a beautiful into-the-pitch slower-ball. The veteran pacer ended the match with exceptional bowling figures of 4-1-26-1.
