The Royals derby ended with inaugural champions having the last laugh at MCA Stadium in Pune. After putting 144 on board in the first innings, Rajasthan bowlers delivered great spells to restrict Bangalore to just 115 runs in the second innings. Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshal Patel picked three wickets each, as Prasidh Krishna finished the game with two crucial wickets.
Riyan Parag emerged as a standout batter for Rajasthan as he scored unbeaten 56 runs while other batters had a tough outing. Earlier, Devdutt Padikkal and Jos Buttler added just 11 runs on board for the first wicket before Padikkal got dismissed off the 2nd over.
In response to 144, Virat Kohli along with Faf du Plessis opened the innings but Kohli failed once again and got out on 9. None of the Bangalore batters could keep the team's hope alive as they bundled out at just 115 runs in 19.3 overs.
