On This day: Rachin Ravindra was born in 1999

New Zealand cricketer Rachin Ravindra is celebrating his 26th birthday on November 18, 2025. The young batter has gone on to become a crucial player for New Zealand across formats in the last few years and turned out to be a key batter in major tournaments. Ravindra made his debut for New Zealand in a T20I match against Bangladesh in Mirpur on September 1, 2021.

Since then, he has so far played 17 Tests, 37 ODIs and 38 T20I matches for New Zealand, scoring 3127 runs in all three formats combined. Rachin Ravindra Career

Rachin Ravindra has appeared in two Under-19 World Cups for New Zealand in 2016 and 2018. After that, he had to a couple of more years, as he finally got a chance in the T20I series in Bangladesh. The left-hander suffered a golden duck in his maiden international game. A few months later, Rachin made his Test debut against India in Kanpur in November 2021. In that game, the young batter played 91 deliveries in the second innings as the Test match ended in a draw.

On March 25, 2023, Rachin Ravindra became an all-format player for New Zealand as he made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in Auckland. He was also a part of New Zealand’s squad in the ODI World Cup in 2023 and finished as the fourth highest run-scorer in the tournament, scoring 578 runs in 10 matches at an average of 64.22.

Talking about his IPL career, Rachin Ravindra has played for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024 and IPL 2025 till now, amassing 413 runs in 18 matches so far.
