In the Asian Shooting Championship 2025, India won a silver medal as the trio of Anmol Jain, Saurabh Chaudhary and Aditya Malra won a silver medal in the men’s 10m air pistol team competition and opened India’s account on the medal tally. As per Olympics.com, the Indian trio scored 1735-52x to finish behind the People’s Republic of China’s Hu Kai, Changjie You and Yifan Zhang, who pulled off the gold with 1744-51x. The Islamic Republic of Iran concluded in the third spot and won the bronze medal with 1733-62x.
Talking about Indian players’ individual performances, Amit Sharma ended in the top spot in the qualifying round while Anmol Jain was the only Indian shooter to make the cut for the final stage after concluding in ninth place with 580-17x. Varun Tomar was in fourth place as he and Amit were vying for Ranking Points Only (RPO). Asian Games gold medal winner Saurabh Chaudhary was in the 21st spot with 576-15x while Malra got 13th place in the qualifying stage with 579-20x. Discussing Anmol’s performance in the final, he ended up in the sixth position with a score of 155.1.
Manu Bhaker and Girish Gupta clinch medals in the 10 m air pistol competitions
Two-time Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker bagged a bronze medal in the 10-m women’s air pistol category. In the eight-women final competition, she concluded her campaign in the third spot with her shot of 219.7. Korea's Yang Jiin (241.6), who took silver, while Qianke (243.2) claimed the second and first positions respectively.
Earlier, on August 18, Girish Gupta hit the headlines for winning a gold medal in the 10m air pistol men youth competition. The 17-year-old shot 241.3 in the final to finish ahead of compatriot Dev Pratap, who shot 238.6 for silver.
