Last year, Carlos Alcaraz won his Roland Garros title, defeating Sinner in a jaw-dropping 5 hours and 29 minutes final. Sadly, this year he won’t be participating in the competition to defend his title as he withdrew his name due to his serious wrist injury. He has posted on his official Twitter account that he has undergone a lot of medical attention and is undergoing treatment. However, his injury still persists, so he has decided to pull out of the tournament.
He wrote on Twitter, “After the results of the tests carried out today, we have decided that the most prudent thing is to be cautious and not participate in Rome and Roland Garros, while we wait to assess the evolution to decide when we will return to the court. It's a complicated moment for me, but I'm sure we'll come out stronger from here”

Carlitos has undergone an injury during the Barcelona Open during the match against Otto Viratnen. He needed medical attention during the game and later missed his training for the next match and eventually withdrew from the tournament due to the injury.
As a rival, I want to see him recover fast: Jannik Sinner
As in every sport, from time to time, rivalry gets updated. As earlier it was Federer-Nadal rivalry that the fans cherished, in this era of tennis, it is Alcaraz-Sinner rivalry. Last year, Carlos Alcaraz won over Jannik Sinner in an epic finale to grab the French Open. He also went to the World No. 1 spot, removing Sinner after winning the US Open, but Sinner eventually claimed back his position in the Monte Carlos Final. With Alacarz missing the French Open, Sinner will definitely have an upper hand entering the tournament as World No. 1. Also, the Djokovic and Sinner Final can be very well anticipated.
But Sinner earlier had shared his thoughts on Alacaraz missing the French Open. He said he will miss the competition a lot, and as a rival, he wishes for his recovery soon. "It's sad for tennis. Me being a competitor, I always want to play against the best in the world, and he definitely is the best in the world here on this surface. I wish him to recover as fast as possible," he said.
Alcaraz is the youngest tennis player to have completed his career grand slam. Do you think missing the French Open was a huge opportunity loss for him?
