
Navneet Kaur and Mumtaz Khan turned out to be star performers as Indian women’s hockey team thrashed Singapore women’s team by 12-0 in the group stage fixture of the ongoing Women’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 in Gongshu on September 8. It was a dominant performance by the Indian team as they didn’t let Singapore score a single goal throughout the match.
For India Women, Navneet Kaur and Mumtaz Khan registered respective hat-tricks playing a crucial role in a win against Singapore Women in the Women’s Hockey Asia Cup pool match. Mumtaz scored the first goal for India in the second minute of the match. After that, she went on to score goals in the 32nd and 38th minutes taking India Women towards a dominant win. Apart from that, Navneet also scored in the 14th, 18th and 28th minute as she and Mumtaz scored half of India’s goals.
India Women finish at top of Pool B; advance to Super 4s
With a win against Singapore Women, Indian women’s hockey team finished at the top of the points table with two wins and a draw in three matches. India started their campaign with a 11-0 win over Thailand. After that, they registered a thrilling 2-2 draw in their second league match against Japan. Now, they defeated Singapore by 12-0 margin in their final pool game and have qualified for the Super 4s. On the other hand, Singapore Women are out of the tournament after registering three consecutive defeats in Pool B.
Along with India, Japan and China have also made it to the top four of the ongoing Women’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025. For India Women, Navneet Kaur and Mumtaz are also the joint top scorers in the ongoing tournament with five goals each.
