Pacific Premier League: Team Pacific Organic, Team Gold Sports, and Team Traverse take wins on Day 8

It was a day of teams batting first in the inaugural edition of the Pacific Premier League. In all the three matches played on Day 7 of the T20 league, teams batting first won. It started with Team Traverse beating Team Central Public School in the first game. After that, Team Gold Sports 11 pinned down Team USA Global. Meanwhile, Team Pacific Organic continued the trend as they beat Team Trully India in the last game of Day 7.

Harshal Jain shines for Team Traverse

Coming to individual fixtures, in the first game of the day played between Team Traverse and Team Central Public School, the former beat Team CPS by 43 runs. Harshal Jain was the star for Team Traverse with his 34-ball half-century. On the back of Jain’s knock and quick 20s from Samrprit Joshi and Manay Kataria, Traverse put 190 on the board.

After that, they restricted Team CPS to 147/7 in their 20 overs. Two wickets each from Mahesh Machhar and Ritik Audichya helped TT’s cause. Heeren Gupta, Aman Hussain, and Hemraj Purohit also chipped in with a wicket each. For Team CPS, Mohammadfarhan Khan remained the highest scorer with his 36-ball 39.

Anil Rajput’s quickfire 63 helps Team Gold Sports 11 beat Team USA Global

In the second game of the day, it was another high-scoring game with Team Global Sports 11 putting up 184/5 while batting first. Anil Rajput scored the most runs for Global Sports 11 as he ended the inning with 63 (32) against his name. Mohit Jain also chipped in with a handy 46 while Prashan Yadav scored 28 off 21 balls.

In bowling, Chitresh Choudhary’s 2/37, ably supported by Yashvardhan Singh’s 1/8 and Harshit Dak’s 1/19, helped Team Global restrict Team USA Global 29 shy of the target. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh’s half-century (59 off 42) and 43-ball 45 from Shiva Chauhan went in vain as they found little support from other batters.

Hitesh Pakhrot brings another win for Team Pacific

The last game of the day was also dominated by the batters with a total of 317 runs scored in 40 overs. While batting first, Team Pacific Organic out on 175/7 in their 20 overs on the back of a brilliant half-century from Hitesh (62 off 42) and a fiery 32 from Sawai Choudhary.

In bowling for Team Pacific, Pradhmyun Parakh continued his fine run in the tournament as he bagged three wickets at the expense of just 15 runs in his four overs. Parakh got really good support from Devnarayan Ved who also claimed three wickets (3/31).
