Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday announced the squad for the ODI series against New Zealand, starting this month. After initial hiccups due to security concerns, New Zealand's tour to Pakistan was finally approved and the Kiwis are set to play on Pakistan soil after 18 years.

Both sides will play three ODIs in Rawalpindi and five T20s in Lahore with the tour wrapping up on October 3.

While PCB retained most of the players, who travelled to the West Indies, players like Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Shahnawaz Dahani and Zahid Mahmood received their maiden call-ups.

New Zealand are set to fly into Pakistan on September 11, the day after they complete their T20 series in Bangladesh. Notably, this will be their first tour to Pakistan after 2002.

The Black Caps’ tour of Pakistan in 2002 was cut short after a bomb exploded outside their hotel in Karachi on the first morning of the second Test. They returned to play ODIs the following year but have not been back since.

Pakistan's ODI Squad: Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Abdullah Shafique, Saud Shakeel, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Haris, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, Usman Qadir, Zahid Mahmood, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hasan Ali, Rauf, Hasnain Ali, Shahbawaz Dahani
