Venue: National Stadium, Karachi

Preview:

After reigning champions Karachi Kings suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Islamabad United, they will look to come back to winning ways when they lock horns with Multan Sultans in the first match of a double-header on Saturday.

Multan Sultans had a difficult start to their 2021 campaign after losing their initial two matches. However, Mohammad Rizwan's side bounced back with a comprehensive win over Lahore Qalandars in their previous match. Karachi Kings, on the other hand, started their season with an easy win but were stunned by Islamabad United on Wednesday. With both the sides failing to defend 190+ scores once in the tournament (Sultans against Zalmi and Kings against United), there will be some concerns for them, especially pertaining to their bowling department.

Talking about this contest, we can expect another run-fest in Karachi considering the red-hot form of batsmen. Sharjeel Khan (105 off 59) smashed a brilliant century for the Kings in their previous match and was well supported by the experienced Babar Azam (62 off 54). For the Sultans, skipper Mohammad Rizwan (76 off 49) and Sohaib Maqsood (61* off 41) stole the show against Qalandars on Friday.

While Karachi Kings will be keen to bounce back in this contest, Multan Sultans would be looking forward to build on their excellent victory in the previous match. The stage is set for a thrilling game of cricket in Karachi on Saturday.
