Lahore Qalandars have been in good form throughout the tournament. Shaheen Afridi-led side has secured the second spot in the points table, while Islamabad United have struggled in the tournament due to which they are at the fourth spot in the points table.
It’s an absolute batting-friendly pitch. Bowlers don’t have much room to make errors, another high scoring game is on cards.
Due to their all-round performance, Shaheen Afridi-led Qalandars have consistently outplayed other teams in the tournament. In their last clash, skipper Afridi and David Wiese clinched two crucial wickets in the 1st innings, along with each wicket from Haris Rauf and Rashid Khan. Amongst batter, Fakhar Zaman (53* off 42), Kamran Ghulam (55 off 39) and Mohammad Hafeez (9*of 5) have been consistent.
Led by Shadab Khan, the team missed out on securing their birth in the playoffs after losing their last clash against Peshawar Zalmi by 10-runs. United conceded too many runs in the game and provided enough room for Zalmi’s batters to post 200+ total on board. Although Rahmanullah Gurbaz (46 off 19) and wicket-keeper batter Adam Khan (85 off 45) tried their best to secure a victory, their knocks were not enough to outplay Peshawar Zalmi.
