Pakistan and South Africa are number 4 and number 5 in the ICC rankings but Pakistan have been the better T20 team in the recent past. Pakistan won the test series and the Proteas will be seeking to level proceedings by clinching the T20 series.
There will be lots of changes in the Pakistani outfit as they switch formats. The likes of youngsters Haider Ali and Danish Aziz will come into the squad. Experience of Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz will come in handy. Haris Rauf is the bowler that everyone will be keen to watch as he has impressed heavily in white ball cricket. His variations of pace and deadly yorkers have held him in good stead in the Big Bash League.
South Africa’s downfall has been a slight surprise for cricket pandits all over the world. The firepower that they possess in their side along with quality bowlers should make them one of the strongest sides in the world but somehow they’ve been led down with consistent inconsistency. Stand-in skipper Heinrich Klassen will be looking to gain back reputation of the Proteas against a formidable Pakistani side.
