Wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel announced his retirement from competitive cricket in 2020. One of the youngest to have played Test cricket for India, Parthiv, also led Gujarat in his cricketing career before hanging up his boots before his 36th birthday. The left-handed cricketer represented several franchises in his IPL career, including a championship-winning run with the Mumbai Indians. Post that, he has been spotted as a commentator in various cricket broadcasts.

However, Patel gave a bit of a surprise to his fans and followers as he shared a short clip of himself batting at the nets. He posted the video on social media which in no time became a massive talking point. In the video, he can even be seen middling a few balls down the ground at the nets.

Kohli has a chance to win maiden ICC trophy as captain: Parthiv

Meanwhile, Parthiv recognised the upcoming ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand as a huge opportunity for Virat Kohli to win his maiden ICC trophy as a captain. Notably, while Kohli has a great record in bilateral series and competitions, he has failed to lead the team to wins in either a World Cup or a Champions Trophy. However, the Men in Blue have sealed a place in the finals of the inaugural Test Championship and Kohli would be eager to register a win in this summit clash. The match is set to commence on 18 June at the Rose Bowl Cricket Stadium, Southampton.
