The Lucknow Super Giants eventually completed a comprehensive 20-run win over Lucknow Super Giants at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Friday. While Lucknow were restricted to 153/8 with no one except Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda playing an innings for substance, the Lucknow bowlers led by Moshin Khan (3/24) and Krunal Pandya (2/11) defended the modest total successfully.
Earlier Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for Punjab as he scalped 4 wickets for 38 runs. However, his effort went in vain as the Punjab batters failed to chase down the score with Jonny Bairstow top-scoring with 32 from 28 and Mayank Agarwal chipping in with a handy 25.
The fixture was the first face-off of childhood friends Mayank and KL Rahul as rival IPL captains and Rahul had the last laugh with him even taking a smart catch to dismiss Mayank.
