Pakistan hoist flag during training session

It is being reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sought permission from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to hoist the national flag during the practice sessions. In the pictures shared by PCB on Twitter of the visiting teams training session, sported their flag.

Notably, after this the pictures went viral leading to social media outrage. Also the home side showed displeasure on this gesture.

Earlier, a Geo TV report stated that BCB will inform the Pakistan authorities of the same decision soon after the witnessed the team practice with the Pakistan flag.

A State Minister of Bangladesh Murad Hasan also reacted on the same.

“I have nothing to say about the players on the Pakistan team,” Hasan told reporters. “But we can’t accept them hoisting the Pakistan flag during practice sessions. Especially at a time when we’re celebrating the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, when we’re celebrating the golden jubilee of our independence. I believe they should be sent back along with their flag,” he said.

Pakistan team is currently in Dhaka for three-match T20I series which is scheduled to start from November 19. The T20I series will be followed with two Tests in Chattogram & Dhaka.
