Virat Kohli & Man City Manager

One of the most beautiful things about sports is the fact how players and coaches, despite being associated with different games altogether, have utmost respect for each other. They understand how much hard work, passion and dedication goes behind the scenes to deliver performances on the field. And fans love it when they express their love for each other publicly.

Well, something similar happened on Sunday when Virat Kohli shared a video on his social media account, where he can be seen sharing a message to Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola. Notably, both Kohli and Man City are associated with brand ‘Puma’ and while it was a part of promotional video for the brand, it turned out to be a viral video on internet.

Kohli’s video for Pep takes an unexpected twist

“Hi Pep, I hope you are well. Last season was smashing and you are still going strong. Loving the game and the energy. Cheers! This one’s for you,” Kohli said in first half of the video. It looked like a normal video message for the Man City manager from the Team India captain. However, much to everyone’s surprise and delight, things took an extremely unexpected turn in second half of the video.

The 33-year-old shifted to Punjabi and hilariously gave his message to Pep Guardiola. He said, “Pep, bohot vadiya chal raha hai kam. Tu kam khicheya hai Man City vich, rukna nahi hai, theek hai! Es vaari vi title laike jaana hai.” (Pep, the season is going really well. You have done amazing work with Man City, don’t stop now, okay! We have to win the title this time as well.)

It must be noted that defending champions Manchester City are currently at top of the Premier League standings with 41 points in 17 matches. They are in an extremely close battle with Liverpool and Chelsea for the championship and the Citizens would be hoping that consistent performances and Kohli’s good wishes can guide Pep Guardiola’s side to another Premier League title this season. Meanwhile, Team India captain would himself be focusing on the crucial upcoming tour of South Africa as he aims to power his side to a historic Test series victory.
