Although Rajasthan Royals stole a win over Punjab Kings the other day in the Indian Premier League, against a settled unit in Delhi Capitals, they were clearly the second-best. While they won the toss and opted to field first and managed to restrict Delhi to 154/6, they themselves were able to muster only 121/6, losing the match by 33 runs.

Shreyas Iyer was the top scorer for the Capitals in this match as he scored 43 runs from 32 balls. Mustafizur Rahman and Chetan Sakariya were the best bowlers for the Men in Pink in this match as they both scalped two wickets each, Rahman was particularly impressive as he conceded just 22 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

Meanwhile, RR's hero of the win over Punjab, Kartik Tyagi also got a wicket but was on the expensive side as he went for 40 runs. Although commentators on the broadcast assessed the wicket at Abu Dhabi as being on the slower side, it was the quality of Delhi pacers that made them even all the more threatening on this surface.

Avesh Khan got the wicket of Liam Livingstone in the first over itself. Not much later, Yashashi Jaiswal was sent back to the pavilion. Before the innings was could come back on track Ashwin outfoxed David Miller with his flight. From there on, it was difficult to chase down the score, and even though Samson tried at the end, he was yet again scoring in a lost battle.

Following Delhi's convincing win and Rajasthan's fifth defeat of the season, there have various kinds of reactions on Twitter. Most have trolled the Jaipur-based franchise while others have hailed the Delhi team for their consistent run. A few netizens were happy with Iyer's return to competitive cricket after missing out on action due to a shoulder injury. Some of them even urged the selectors to pick him in the T20 World Cup squad where he has found a place only as a reserve player.
