The 2022 edition of the Prague Open is all set to begin on July 25 with players like Barbora Krejcikova and Annet Kontaveit in action. The WTA 250 tournament will be held in the Czech Republic at the TK Sparta Praha Stadium. This will be the 13th edition of the tournament. The Qualifying rounds for the tournament are already underway and the main draw for the event will be revealed once they are over.

The tournament which debuted on the ITF circuit as a $50,000 claycourt event, the Prague Open officially joined the WTA Tour in 2015 as an International-level tournament. Also, it was shifted to hardcourt in 2021. Local star Barbora Krejcikova will begin her title defense once the first round gets underway on July 25.

The 13th edition of the WTA 250 tournament will be played on the outdoor hard courts of the TK Sparta Praha Stadium in Prague, Czech Republic.

The qualifying matches for Prague Open 2022, scheduled for 23-24 July are already underway. Meanwhile, the Main-draw matches will start on July 25. The summit clash of the Prague Open will be played on 31 July.

How much is the prize money?

The total financial commitment for this year’s tournament is $251,750, while the prize money on offer is $239,477. The winner will take home a cheque of $33,200 and 280 ranking points.

Who all will feature in the tournament?

Apart from local star and defending champion Barbora Krejcikova, World No.2 Annet Kontaveit, Petra Kvitova, Elise Merterns, Sorana Cirstea, Karolina Muchova as well as the teenage duo of Linda Noskova and Lucie Havlickova will feature in the tournament.
