8:41 PM: The key decision in attack for United will be the choice between Mason Greenwood or Marcus Rashford on the right flank for Solskjaer but given that Greenwood has been in better form, he could be given the nod.

7:50 PM: We are all in eagerness for the match to begin. Ahead of the encounter, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that the game is much more than just the three points. Take a look.

7:32 PM: Here is something for the fans to get you in the MATCHDAY MOOD!

7:30 PM: We are getting closer to the game time! Are you able to keep calm?

6:27: PM: It will be a test for Liverpool boss Klopp too, who hasn't won a game away at Man Utd more times than any other opponent in his illustrious managerial career. Will he end that drought tonight?

5:37 PM: Meanwhile, it has been a happy Thursday in the Premier League for Manchester United where they lost just one of their 13 games, winning eight of them and sharing points in the other four.

5:03 PM: Although there have been many stats which suggest this could be a challenging encounter for Liverpool. Here is a number Liverpool fans would love- Liverpool haven't lost consecutive games against Man Utd in all competitions since  2014-2016.

4:15 PM: United will miss the services of their captain Harry Maguire for this clash. He is even ruled out of the Europa Cup final. How much of a difference do you think it will make for this crunch game?

4:01 PM: Over four seasons together, Liverpool’s front three have combined for just four goals against Man United across all competitions- a stat to worry for the Reds and the reason they haven't had a great record against them in the recent past. But the situation is a bit different this time around and this could be Liverpool's chance of starting a new phase in the rivalry.

3:15 PM: Jurgen Klopp himself with the Team News for Liverpool

2:23 PM: For Manchester United, all eyes will be on Bruno Fernandes. In 36 Premier League appearances this season, he has netted 17 goals apart from providing 11 assists and United will expect to come good in this encounter.

2:00 PM: There is little doubt that Mohamed Salah will be the key man for the Reds. In 34 Premier League appearances in the ongoing season, he has 20 goals and 4 assists and would strive to put Liverpool into a dominating position early on.

1:51 PM: United have been a great side this season and have shown the resilience of a champion team evident whenever they have conceded an early goal. They have found a way to come back but here in this fixture, their opponents might have more at stake than then who are at best playing for the second place. It is that makes the fight more interesting.

1:25 PM: It should be noted here that Klopp’s men are unbeaten in their last five but victory is the demand of the hour for them and they will hope that others crumble under pressure when they put their feet on the accelerator.

1:03PM: But the Jurgen Klopp's men will have a huge task ahead of them as they haven't won a game at this venue for 2,615 days.

12:42 PM: Liverpool have no option but to win their remaining fixtures this season. If they manage to win all their remaining game even then their Champions League place is not guaranteed as they would need a lot of other results to go their way. However, winning will give them the much-needed belief that they can come back stronger next season.

12:30 PM: Given that a lot of United's players were resting for their previous match, it is expected that they will be able to field their best XI against Liverpool.

12:23 PM: The hosts won't mind playing Liverpool at the Old Trafford, at least the stats suggest so. Man Utd have lost just one of their last 15 home matches against Liverpool across competitions.

12:15 PM: In quite an extraordinary turn of events, the fallout from the doomed European Super League manifested on the pitch before Man United's scheduled meet with Liverpool as hundreds of Red Devils' supporters took to the Old Trafford to protest against the Glazer family. The match had to be rescheduled and consequently, the Red Devils will now have to play their their third match in the space of five days.

Hello and welcome to the live updates of tonight's Premier League encounter between the heavyweights Manchester United and Liverpool. Before both watch rival Manchester City lift their third title in four years, United will host now dethroned champions Liverpool for Thursday's rescheduled football match. The home team will play for the second place with their 2-1 defeat to Leicester City on Thursday confirming what seemed inevitable - a win for Pep Guardiola's City. The situation has been worse this season for the Reds who are still placed sixth on the points tally with 57 points from 34 matches but at least their 2-0 win over Southampton gave them some hope of securing a Champions League qualification. All eyes then seem firmly set this evening at the Old Trafford where the rivalry is set to resume.
