The fourth edition of the Prime Volleyball league is all set to start from 5 February. However, there has been a change in the venue for Prime Volleyball League 2022 with rising COVID-19 cases in Kerala. The organizers announced on Sunday that the 2022 edition of the Volleyball League will be held in Hyderabad rather than Kochi.
The Baseline Ventures made the official announcement on Sunday morning regarding the change in venue for the PVL 2022. All the matches of the league will be held at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad rather than the earlier decided venue in Kochi. “It will be held at the Gachibowli Stadium. There is no change in dates and the event will start on February 5,” Tuhin Mishra, the Managing Director of Baseline Ventures which is organizing the PVL, was quoted saying by The Hindu.
The PVL is a seven-team event and three teams — Kochi Blue Spikers, Calicut Heroes, and Kolkata Thunderbolts — are currently preparing for the event in Kerala. The Prime Volleyball League 2022 is set to take place between 05 February 2022 to 27 February 2022, the fixtures for the competition will be announced shortly.

The Chief Executive officer of the Prime Volleyball League, Joy Bhattacharya also expressed his views on the change in venue for the tournament and hailed Hyderabad for having a great sporting culture. “Hyderabad has always had a great sporting culture, and therefore we are delighted to organize the RuPay Prime Volleyball League in the city. We have waited a long time to provide a platform to all talented volleyball players from around the world to showcase their talent, and hence we cannot wait for the competition to begin,” said Joy Bhattacharya.
“All the players are eagerly waiting to shine for their respective teams, and we are doing everything to ensure a safe and successful tournament is organized. I would also like to thank all the teams and our partners for their support in reaching this decision,” he added.
