Delhi Capitals' prodigy Prithvi Shaw announced his arrival to IPL 2021 in style. There were a lot of talks about the youngster after he smashed record-breaking 827 runs in the recently-concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy. The fans were curious to discover if he would be able to carry forward his impressive form in IPL 2021. However, Shaw silenced all his critics as he played a brilliant knock of 72 runs off 38 deliveries in Delhi Capitals' opening game to power the side to a 7-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings.

Shaw hits the ball towards Sachin Tendulkar stand

During his explosive knock, the 21-year-old smashed 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. Among those three hits, there was one special one that stood out. As Jadeja bowled a straight delivery, Shaw went down the wicket and tonked a mammoth six. The ball went miles over the long-on fence, something that was fascinating about the moment was that it went straight towards the stand of Sachin Tendulkar, who is Prithvi Shaw's idol. It was definitely a great tribute by the youngster to someone he has admired since his childhood.

The fans were quick to praise the youngster as his knock guided Delhi Capitals to a comfortable win over Chennai Super Kings in their opening encounter. The 21-year-old added 138 runs for the opening wicket alongside Shikhar Dhawan (85 off 54) before losing his wicket to Dwayne Bravo. After starting the season on a high, Shaw would definitely want to continue his exploits throughout the whole season.
