It was a Prithvi Shaw special tonight in Ahmedabad as Delhi Capitals went on to beat Kolkata Knight Riders in a one-sided contest on Thursday. Chasing a modest target of 155 runs, the 21-year-old was in no mood to settle and build the innings as he launched a serious assault right from the first delivery. The youngster smashed six consecutive boundaries off the first over bowled by Shivam Mavi and stunned all the cricket fans across the globe.

No love lost between Shaw and Mavi

As Delhi went on to win the match on the back of a blistering 82-run knock from Shaw, the 20-year-old was seen apologizing to Mavi who was his teammate during India's 2018 World Cup winning campaign. It was a very funny sequence of events as Shaw tried to give a warm hug to Mavi. Meanwhile, the KKR bowler tried to unleash his frustration in a funny way as he tried to pinch Shaw, who looked in some pain for a while. In short, it was an extremely heartwarming moment shared between the two youngsters who proved that there was certainly no love lost between the two friends despite of what happened on the field.

2018 pool of U-19 players

The current season of Indian Premier League features a lot of youngsters who were part of India's 2018 World Cup winning campaign. While Prithvi Shaw is playing for Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders have Shivam Mavi, Shubman Gill and Kamlesh Nagarkoti from that batch. Some of the other youngsters from that talented pool of players include: Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals), Abhishek Sharma (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Anukul Roy (Mumbai Indians) and Ishan Porel (Punjab Kings).
