Indian cricketers Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, who are currently in Sri Lanka are likely to join the Indian camp in England as replacements for injured Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar. Notably, off-spinner Jayant Yadav has also been asked to join the Test team as a replacement for Avesh Khan, who has been ruled out due to a finger injury.

Shubman Gill has returned home following a stress-related injury in his left leg, while Sundar and Avesh both sustained finger injuries during the practice match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly planning to fly the players to England.

The Indian team had earlier asked for Shaw as a replacement for Gill but the request was rejected by the BCCI. But the board is now considering the request, seeing the increasing list of injuries in the camp. Notably, opener Mayank Agarwal is part of the team and so is Rohit Sharma. Abhimanyu Easwaran is a standby.
