Priya Punia & Nuzhat Parween to feature in ODI & T20I series against South Africa

Team SSPARK athlete Priya Punia has been called up for the Indian ODI squad. Priya’s ODI debut was nothing less than extraordinary. Playing against South Africa, Priya scored an impressive 75 (not out) contributing to Team India’s victory and earning the Player of the Match Award in the process.

Meanwhile, Nuzhat Parween, a SSPARK athlete and one of the youngest Indian players to debut in the National team, has been selected in the T20I squad to play against South Africa. The talented young wicket-keeper and batswoman was the former captain of Madhya Pradesh U-16 football team. She later decided to pursue a career in cricket and made her debut for the national team within 5 years.

Both of these young women have faced extreme trials and tribulations in their journey to reach their current level in a sport as competitive as cricket. Priya and Nuzhat are set to be the future of women’s cricket in India. Their selection for the South Africa tour is another step forward toward their bright futures.
