Match 1: Gujarat Giants vs Jaipur Pink Panthers

Head to head

Gujarat Giants: Mahendra Ganesh Rajput, Ajay Kumar, Rakesh Narwal, Rathan K, Harmanjeet Singh, Bhuvneshwar Gaur, Harshit Yadav, Maninder Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Rakesh Sungroya, Sunil Kumar (c), Parvesh Bhainswal, Ravinder Pahal, Girish Maruti Ernak, Ankit, Davinder Amar, Sumit Malik, Vishav Chaudhary, Soleiman Pahlevan, Hadi Oshtorak

Jaipur Pink Panthers: Arjun Deshwal, Naveen Bazzad, Amirhossein Maleki, Amin Nosrati, Sushil Gulia, Sandeep Dhull, Amit Hooda, Dharmaraj Cheralathan, Vishal Lather, Pavan TR, Elavarasan, Shaul Kumar, Amit Kharb, Deepak Hooda, Nitin Rawal, Sachin Narwal

Analysis:

Both teams had a disappointing season in 2019 and will be eager to make a strong comeback. Last time around in 2019, the Jaipur Pink Panthers had made a great start but just could not carry forward the momentum. This time around though with the inclusion of Arjun Deshwal who is known for his points-fetching ability with even 4-5 players on the mat, the Panthers would be optimistic about an improved show.

However, Gujarat Giants have one of the better defence attacks in their ranks in the competition and while they already had the likes of Sunil Kumar and Parvesh Bhainswal, they have added Ravinder Pahal and Girish Ernak to further strengthen their squad. In addition, Ravinder, Sunil and Parvesh- the three of them play together a lot and the experience and the comraderies they share on and off the field could have an impact on how the season unfolds for Gujarat.

Conclusion: Gujarat Giants seems the better team on paper and should be able to win the contest comfortably.

Prediction: Gujarat win

Match 2: Dabang Delhi vs Puneri Paltan

Head to head:

Squads:

Dabang Delhi: Aman Kadian, Chandran Ranjit, Naveen Kumar, Neeraj Narwal, Sumit Kumar, Joginder Narwal (c), Mohit, Vishal Mane, Pratik Patil, Ravinder Pahal, Anil Kumar, Saeid Ghaffari, Satyawan, Sumit, Somber, Balram, Meraj Sheykh, Vijay

Puneri Paltan: Rahul Chaudhari, Nitin Tomar, Pankaj Mohite, Pawan Kadian, Mohit Goyat, Akash Shinde, Shubham Shelke, Aslam Inamdar, Govind Gurjar, Victor Obiero, E Subhash, Vishal Bharadwaj, Baldev Singh, Balasaheb Jadhav, Sanket Sawant, Hadi Tajik, Sombir Gulia, Karanvir, Abinesh Nadarajan, Sourav Kumar

Analysis:

Dabang Delhi seems like the team to watch out for this season. Although last time around, they had a resemblance to the Delhi franchise of the Indian Premier League in the sense they had a relatively younger squad that went on to top the league stage, this time around they have experienced players at this disposal with captain Joginder Narwal along with Sandeep Narwal and Jeeva Kumar. Delhi's Naveen Kumar will be yet another player to watch out for this season. Delhi will face Puneri Paltan in their season opener who had a rather tough season in 2019. However, with the inclusion of Rahul Chaudhari, they will hope to have a good season ahead.

Conclusion: For now, Delhi start as clear favourites in this game and a Puneri Paltan win will be looked upon as an upset.

Prediction: Puneri Paltan to win this contest.

Match 3: Haryana Steelers vs Patna Pirates

Head to head:

Squads:

Haryana Steelers:  Vikash Kandola (C), Vinay, Meetu Sharma, Mohammad Esmaeil Mghsoudlou, Vikas Chhillar, Akshay Kumar, Ashish Narwal, Sawin Narwal, Rohit Gulia, Rajesh Narwal, Vikas Jaglan, Hamid Mirzaei Nader, Bijendra Singh Chaudhary, Ajay Ghanghas, Surender Nada, Ravi Kumar, Shrikant Tewthia, Rajesh Gurjar, Sudhakar Kadam, Chand Singh, Yash Jaideep Dahiya, Mohit

Patna Pirates: Prashanth Kumar Rai (C), Sachin Tanwar, Monu Goyat, Selvamani K, Monu, Rajveer Chavan, Guman Singh, Rohit, Mohit, Mohammadreza Shadloui, Sajin Chandrasekar, Sahil Mann, Daniel Omondi, Neeraj Kumar, Shubham Shinde, Sourav Gulia, Sandeep, Manish, Sunil

Analysis:

The final game of the day should be a high-scoring one. A mere glimpse at their squads suggests neither sides are short of raiders which means there will be more points to take by both sides. Patna Pirates might have lost Pardeep Narwal in the auctions yet they have a solid raiding side at their disposal. The contest could also be seen as a batter between the trio of Monu Goyat, Prashant Rai and Sachin of Patna and the Haryana pair of Vikash Khandola and Vinay who accumulated points for fun last season. Inevitably then, the team that defends better might be able to win this contest which where Patna seems to lack resources.

Conclusion: The lack of a game-changer in the defense aspect of the game puts Patna in a disadvantaged position. Haryana should be able to win this contest.

Prediction: Haryana to win this contest.
