In the world of sports, a very shocking incident has caught everyone's attention across the globe. PSG's women's player Aminata Diallo has notably been taken into custody by the French police for allegedly planning an attack on her teammate and fellow midfielder Kheira Hamraoui. It is being reported that the athlete took the step in order to get more playing time in the side, which makes this whole incident absolutely controversial.

It all happened when the PSG players met for a team dinner last week following which Diallo offered a ride to Hamraoui back home. This is when two men stopped them midway and pulled the two players out of the car. While Diallo was held by one of them, the other man assaulted Hamraoui and tried to break her legs.

Reflecting on the reports of Diallo's involvement in the whole incident, the club released an official statement. "Paris St Germain condemns in the strongest possible terms the violence committed. Since Thursday evening the club has taken all necessary measures to guarantee the health, well-being and safety of its entire women's team,” the club stated.

They added, “Paris St Germain is working with the Versailles Police to clarify the facts. The club is paying close attention to the progress of the proceedings and will study what action to take."

Diallo had replaced Hamraoui in recent Champions League game

Following the severe injuries on her legs and hands that Kheira Hamraoui sustained during the whole incident, she was ruled out of PSG's Champions League match against Real Madrid. As it happened, she was replaced by Aminata Diallo in the playing XI.

Diallo, who hasn't got much playing time this season so far, got to play 89 minutes in the contest. Although PSG went on to comfortably win the match 4-0, the team would certainly be quite disappointed with the unfortunate news which is coming out of their camp.

Notably, Diallo has been part of PSG for many years now since joining the club in 2016. On the other hand, Hamraoui is a new member of the squad after she joined from Barcelona in July 2020.
