With less than a week remaining for the 2021 transfer window to end, Real Madrid have showcased their intentions of signing the 22-years-old, Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint Germain. In pursuit of his acquisition, Los Blancos made their first official bid of €160 Million which was firmly denied by PSG, according to the reports of El Chiringuito’s Josep Pedrerol and other French media outlets.

After Mbappe informed PSG about his decision to not sign a contract extension, the Ligue 1 club was adamant about letting the centre-forward leave before the end of his contract in 2022. On the contrary, even after Lionel Messi’s transfer, PSG were confident in keeping hold of Mbappe, yet the latter French striker rejected yet another contract extension sent his way.

Many football fanatics would be aware that Kylian Mbappe has been a long-awaited target of Los Blancos president Florentino Perez. In addition, the sale of Raphael Varane and Martin Odegaard have allowed Real Madrid to earn huge bills in order to make a bid to acquire Mbappe.

As per the latest reports, Real Madrid are all set to raise their next bid to €200m in order to sign the French striker before the transfer deadline ends on August 31. Knowing that Madrid have not made any major signing in the 2021 transfer window, they have been majorly out-performed by their domestic rivals.

Having said that, modern football fans are well aware of Mbappe’s scoring prowess. He has scored 122 goals in just 122 appearances for the club and has single-handedly led the PSG attack deep into the Champions League knockout stage when Neymar was haunted with injuries.

With the transfer saga yet to unravel various speculations before the deadline approaches on August 31, it is safe to say that Kylian Mbappe and both the clubs involved are going to experience several twists before locking the striker in either of their squad.
