Pakistan Super League 2021 finally resumed on Wednesday after a hiatus of three months. Saturday sees only one game taking place with Quetta Gladiators taking on Peshawar Zalmi for crucial two points. Peshawar Zalmi lost their last match on Thursday but they have managed to win 3 games and will look forward to correct their mistakes whereas Gladiators will be playing their second match in UAE. Quetta Gladiators are one of the best teams on paper but they haven’t managed to win matches consistently. They are last on the points table, having lost their first four matches of the tournament. They managed to win once before the tournament was stopped midway.
Quetta Gladiators are set for their second match in UAE. Andre Russell and Faf du Plessis will be involved for Quetta.
Quetta Gladiators- 2
Peshawar Zalmi- 3
Faf du Plessis- He had a fantastic IPL season, scoring 320 runs in 7 matches with 4 fifties and was in 3rd run position in the Orange Cap race. Gladiators will be hoping that he continues his excellent form here in PSL as well. His ability of playing according to the situation coupled with excellent fielding in the deep makes him an important player for the team.
Andre Russell- Russell is the most important player of the team. His all-round performance can have a big impact on the match. The death overs he bowls and the finishing touches he provides while batting can change the game in just a few overs.
Shoaib Malik- Though he couldn’t finish off the game in the previous match, Shoaib Malik still played a fantastic knock of 73. He is one the best players for Peshawar Zalmi. He can also help in contributing some overs in bowling if the team requires.
Wahab Riaz- The skipper bowled brilliantly in the previous game as he knocked the Lahore skipper over with his in-swinging yorker. His 4 overs will be crucial for Peshawar Zalmi.
