Preview:

All cricket fans would be excited at the prospect of yet another double header in the Pakistan Super League this Sunday and the first of the two clashes will see Islamabad United meet the Lahore Qalandars at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. It was not long ago when Lahore Qalandars stitched a comfortable win over the same opponents and since then, they have won another match to consolidate their position at the top of the table with five wins from six matches. However, Islamabad too bounced back in style with a handsome win in their next match, winning by 10 wickets with 10 overs remaining. All said and done, the two teams are the most successful sides of the competition so far and this is likely to be a humdinger of a contest. But with Lahore having beaten them earlier, they will have that added edge over their opponents on Sunday.

Team News:

There aren't any reported injury concerns from either team and with both teams fresh off a win in their respective previous games, there is lesser probability of changes in both the playing XIs.

Head to Head (last 5 matches)

Islamabad United– 4

Lahore Qalandars– 1

Key Players:

Rashid Khan: Rashid Khan has been in great form both with the bat and ball. Not only has he managed to scalp a total of 7 wickets in the 4 matches so far, including a match-winning fifer in the last game, he even helped them cross the line with the bat. Moreover, more than his wicket-taking ability it is his economy, which comes as a massive asset in this form of the game as the Afghanistan star has conceded runs at a miserly rate of 4.56 this season.

Colin Munro: Although he has just had one good inning under his belt in 2 innings, the kind of impact his 90 from 36 deliveries had will be enough to ring alarm bells in the opposition dugout. The Islamabad United side will hope Munro continues in the same manner and creates a sense of panic among the opposition forcing them to try different things and make more errors in the process.

James Faulkner: James Faulkner also proved his utility to Lahore in the limited time that he has spent with the franchise and would now look to continue his good form moving ahead. On the Abu Dhabi surface, Faulkner has been effective with his slower balls and variations even upfront. Moreover, he is a handy chap with the bat as well and provides the side with a lot of balance along with Rashid.

Mohammad Wasim Jr: Mohammad Wasim Jr had a great game in the last match against Quetta Gladiators, and now would be eager to build on the good work. Along with Hasan Ali, he forms a great bank for the captain which he can turn to when in a crunch situation. Watch out for the young all-rounder in a team with some real firepower.
