PSL 2021 concluded on a high on June 24, 2021, with Multan Sultans winning the final against Peshawar Zalmi by 47 runs and achieving their maiden title. PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani congratulated all six franchises upon the conclusion of this edition. The tournament was earlier suspended in the month of March owing to the spike in COVID-19 cases, following which the second leg of PSL 2021 was played in UAE from June 9 onwards. The remaining 20 games of the suspended tournament were played behind closed doors at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in UAE.

I assure that PSL 2022 will be staged in Pakistan in the presence of fans: PCB Chairman

In an official statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ehsan Mani assured that PSL 2022 will return to Pakistan and will be played in the presence of fans. “I am delighted that despite being unable to attend the matches in Abu Dhabi, the fans and supporters continued to wholeheartedly back, encourage and appreciate the event, players and their favourite teams, which resulted in increased eyeballs and impressive digital numbers. The PCB has always valued its fans and supporters and understands their contribution to the growth of the sport," he mentioned.

The PCB Chairman further added that the planning for the next edition of the T20 Tournament will take place from July onwards and by the final quarter of the year the Board will be able to share complete details with fans to plan for attending the tournament beforehand.
