India's double Olympic medallist superstar PV Sindhu made her long-awaited comeback at the ongoing Denmark Open World Tour Super 1000 tournament on Thursday. Sindhu booked her place in the women's singles quarter-finals as she defeated Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan 21-16, 12-21, 21-15 at the Odense Sports Park.

Notably, after winning the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, Sindhu had taken a break due to the hectic schedule during the Games. Sindhu, seeded fourth, made a bright start and won the first game 21-16. She lost the second game 12-21 but made a strong comeback in the third game with 21-15 win. The 26-year-old Indian shuttler eventually won the contest in 67 minutes to reach the last-eight stage, where she will take on South Korea's fifth-seeded An Seyoung.

Sindhu delivered a fine performance in her comeback game. However, what caught the attention of the fans was her necklace. The 2016 Rio Games silver medallist was seen sporting a necklace featuring the Olympic rings. The badminton star competed in the match with a special Olympics necklace. Fans were in awe of Sindhu's necklace on social media and they also praised her for the spirited performance.

Check out how the fans reacted:

It is worth noting that Sindhu has never won the Denmark Open title. Her best finish has come in 2015, when she ended her campaign as the runner-up. This will be a good opportunity for her to finally win the tournament as both of last year's tournament finalists - Nozomi Okuhara and Carolina Marin are missing this time around.

Before the Tokyo Olympics, PV Sindhu had also shared a picture on social media of her sporting special Olympics-nail art. It had featured Olympic rings on white nail polish.
