After the tennis Grand Slam - French Open 2021 finished with Novak Djokovic clinching the title for the second time and his 19th Grand Slam, another big news has come as a shock for the tennis fans. The 'King of Clay' Rafael Nadal, who suffered a defeat at the hands of World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the French Open semi-final, has pulled out of the this year’s championship at Wimbledon.

Nadal to miss Tokyo Olympics

Nadal who was handed a big blow by Djokovic on the clay court event has now decided to pull out of the Wimbledon tournament. Along with this, he has also withdrawn from his participation from forthcoming Tokyo Olympics.

Notably, this decision of Nadal comes “after listening to his body”. He cited that “there has been only 2 weeks between RG and Wimbledon, didn’t make it easier on my body to recuperate after the always demanding clay court session.”
