Rajasthan Royals have been the most hit franchise amongst the other sides in the ongoing Indian Premier League. After players pulling out of the tournament due to injuries and bubble fatigue, the franchise is currently left with only four overseas players in the form of Jos Buttler, David Miller, Chris Morris and Mushtafizur Rahman. Their marquee player Ben Stokes suffered an injury which forced him to withdraw from the tournament and return to his country for further treatment. After this, Jofra Archer who was likely to be part of the second half of the season, pulled out as he is currently undergoing rehab.

Amidst all this, Rajasthan Royals had earlier applied and contacted franchises to loan some players for the remaining season.

Royals request to loan in Robin Uthappa from CSK

After Mumbai Indians reserve Scott Kuggeleijn joined RCB camp in Delhi on Tuesday, reports reveal that Rajasthan Royals have requested Chennai Super Kings to loan Robin Uthappa. The 35-year-old hasn’t featured for CSK in the ongoing season and is simply warming the benches.

Seeing his performance from the last season, Uthappa played 12 innings for the Rajasthan Royals and could only manage to score 196 runs. Eventually the Indian cricketer was traded to Chennai Super Kings ahead of IPL 2021.
