Rajasthan Royals batter Shimron Hetmyer has been blessed with a child. The power-hitter broke the news on Tuesday morning (May 10). The left-handed batter shared an adorable post of himself playing with his newborn baby on his Instagram story. The post also had a special message for Hetmyer’s wife as the power-hitter batter wrote, “Hey world welcome out a bundle of joy, tequila_goddess_nu I love you so much”.

Earlier, Hetmyer left the Rajasthan’s camp midway to attend the birth of his first child. He flew off to Guyana on Sunday (May 8). The batter is expected to join back the franchise during the final stages of the tournament. However, it is yet not clear when Hetmyer will fly back to India.

Meanwhile, Hetmyer has not been named in the West Indies squad for ODIs against Netherlands and Pakistan. He has been reportedly given a break to spend some time with his newborn baby after the conclusion of IPL 2022. The batter has been in incredible form throughout the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. He has been trusted for the role of a finisher. Hetmyer has scored 291 runs in 11 outings at an average of 26.64, with an unbeaten 59 being his highest score.
