It has been learnt that Archer will meet specialists in the next 48 hours to decide the next course of action to recover from the setback. Another surgery is understood to be a possibility, with the issue in Archer's joint more severe than anticipated. As a result, the Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer is likely to miss the second leg of IPL 2021, scheduled to resume from September 19. Not only that, but the pacer could also miss the Twenty20 World Cup and Ashes.

When did Archer first suffer the injury?

The pacer had missed the IPL 2021 to completely recover from his elbow injury but things have not gone as planned for him. Notably, Archer was named the Indian Premier League’s most valuable player in 2020.
