Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is highly regarded as one of the most decorated off-spinner of all time and has proven his worth with his all-around skills in all game formats. He has recently been picked by the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals for 5 crores at the mega-auctions ahead of IPL 2022. Ashwin on Wednesday expressed his delight to get associated with the Rajasthan franchise after receiving a bunch of goodies from the franchise's COO, Jake Lush McCrum.
In a video message, Ashwin shared the fact that his daughter loves the colour pink. "They will be more than happy to see their father donning the pink jersey in the cash-rich league", said the spinner. In the recently shared video by RR, Ashwin was seen recalling early seasons of the Indian Premier League where he warmed the benches of Chennai Super Kings, whereas Royals were backing up young players like Ravindra Jadeja. In a minute-long interview, the Indian off-spinner shared that "Royals have always been ahead of time and identified India's future stars."
Adding further, he went on to compare the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals with defending champions Chennai Super Kings.
"While I was warming up benches from 2008 to 2010 in CSK camp, Royals gave chances to then-unknown Ravindra Jadeja, who soon became top-notch all-rounder in the national squad and franchise tournament as well", recalled Ashwin.
Notably, Ashwin started his IPL journey in 2008 with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The spinner remained part of the franchise till 2015, post which he went to Rising Pune Supergiants.
