Afghanistan superstar Rashid Khan is already counted by many as a legend of the game. Especially in the shortest format of the game, the leg spinner has proven himself across several leagues and tournaments and is usually the go-to bowler for a captain who is either looking to check the run flow or pick up a wicket. Despite his success at a young age, Rashid has, unfortunately, lost both his parents early and they are no longer there to see him perform on the cricket field anymore.

On the occasion of Mother's Day, Rashid took to social media to outpour his emotions. "#MothersDay slaps different when she’s not here ??," he wrote. "The memory of my mother holding me securely can never be erased. It was the foundation of my success & confidence. She is priceless jewel of my life & will remain so until my heart beats. Rest in peace mummy. #HappyMothersDay," he added.

7 matches, 10 wickets for Rashid in IPL 2021

Rashid was last seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In 7 matches, the 22-year-old picked 10 wickets. However, the tournament had to be suspended midway owing to rising cases of COVID-19 in India.
