Mitchell Marsh has finally arrived and proved his worth as an all-rounder for the Aussies in the ongoing series against the West Indies. In Steve Smith's absence, the 29-year-old has been given the opportunity to bat at number three by coach Justin Langer and the Australian team management and he, in return, has made it count with some match-winning contributions.

In the ongoing five-match T20I series against the Windies, the all-rounder has recorded three fifty-plus scores and has been Australia’s best performer so far. He is the leading run-scorer in the series with 189 runs under his belt at an average of 47.25.

Notably, Australia didn’t get off to the start they were hoping for in the series, having lost the first three games of the five-match series against the Windies. However, it couldn't stop an in-form Mitchell Marsh from giving impressive performances one after the another. In the fourth T20I, Marsh’s performance helped Aussies win their first game of the series. He scored a brilliant 75 off 44 balls with the bat before returning figures of 3/24 in his four overs with the ball.

After producing a match-winning effort both with the bat and the ball, Marsh received a lot of applause from the Twitterati.

Here are some of the tweets:

It is fair to say that Mitchell Marsh has been the only positive for Australia in this series. The final T20I will be played on 17th July before the ODI series begins.
