Every time people try to write him off, he silences them with his brilliant performances, such has been the story of Bhuvneshwar Kumar in his cricketing career so far. The medium pacer from Uttar Pradesh has dished out some match-winning performances from time to time. Kumar is also known for his ability to swing the ball both ways with top control and he put on an exhibition of the same in the second T20I between India and South Africa.
Given the responsibility to open the attack for India, Kumar drew the first blood in the form of Reeza Hendricks. The right-arm quick bowler outfoxed Hendricks with his inswinger and knocked his off stump down. Kumar kept on bamboozling the South African batters with his swinging deliveries. After Hendricks, Bhuvneshwar got Dwaine Pretorious with a ‘knuckle ball’. With two out of four overs done, Pant took Kumar out of the attack.
However, as Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen formed a little partnership, Pant brought Kumar back into the attack and the veteran pacer did not disappoint at all. He removed last match hero van der Dussen straightaway in a similar fashion as Hendricks. India managed to dismiss three South African batters till the end of the 10th over, all of which came on the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
With the 32-year-old once again impressing with his classy bowling, Twitter users heaped praise on the pacer. “Red Bull gives you wings ? Bhuvi gives you swings ?Bhuvi is being Bhuvi today,” wrote a user.
