The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member squad for the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe starting from August 18. Senior players including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are rested for the Zimbabwe series.
Apart from Virat and Rohit, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya, and pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah were also left out from the Zimbabwe tour. Shikhar Dhawan once again will lead the side.
Cricket followers reacted to the announcement of resting former Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Twitter. The fans remain divided on the matter as some questioned the decision of resting Kohli while other backed the announcement.

Virat Kohli shouldn't be skipping these games if he isn't working on something technical (assuming he is skipping, and not "rested" by selectors)#ZINvIND

Once again Virat Kohli has been rested(dropped)! 😠. Then Why was it said that Virat Kohli would play this ODI series? @imVkohli must have been selected for this series so that he can run big scores and get back to his form. Politics @SGanguly99 @JayShah @chetans1987 #ViratKohli

Good decision by @BCCI .Virat Kohli can never return back to his original form and make runs for india ..Better be rested and new players be given a chance to play for the series .!#ViratKohli𓃵 #ViratKohli
