Nostalgia will hit the cricket fans when Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara will once again be seen together. Both the legends will be featuring in upcoming Road Safety World Series that is slated to commence from March 2. The tournament originally started in March 2020, but the inaugural edition had to be called off just after four games due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world is returning to the new normal, remaining games will be played in Raipur.

The series will continue till March 21, and combine cricket fans from all over the world as enthusiasts will witness numerous stars. Among the names include, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, Australian speedster Brett Lee, Sri Lankan spin whiz Muttiah Murlitharan and many more. The prime motive of the T20 tournament will be to raise awareness among viewers regarding road safety in the country. An initiative by Road Safety cell of Maharashtra, the campaign aims to influence viewers through once elite cricketers as they are worshipped as role models by millions throughout the nation.

With tournament getting hosted in Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister of the state also welcomed the idea gladly. He heaped praise on the series’ aim and also stated how it was the need of the hour and will give people one more reason to cheer in the times of pandemic. “I believe it is a wonderful way to create awareness about the menace, and a very important one given that one person dies every four minutes on Indian roads,” said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel emphasising the need of spreading awareness.

Once again, fans can gear up to take a dive in old times and watch the best of the best cricketers battle once more, albeit for a noble cause this time.
