Indian Premier League is undoubtedly one of the richest cricket T20 tournament in the world right now. Some of the salaries that players earn during the event are just stupendous which is one of the main reasons why IPL is famously known as the cash-rich league. Talking about this year's auction, it was Chris Morris who was the latest entrant to the big-money signings as Rajasthan Royals bought him for a whopping amount of Rs. 16.25 crore, making him the most expensive player to be sold in the auction history of the tournament.

Morris' salary per ball in IPL 2021?

If we break down the Rs. 16.25 crore salary of the South African for this season, it will come down to around Rs. 1.16 crore per match (if Rajasthan Royals doesn't qualify for play-offs and Morris plays all 14 matches in the league stages). If we consider that he bowls 4 overs every match, his salary per every over will be an unbelievable figure of Rs. 29 lakh. Talking about it further, if Morris bowls 6 legal deliveries every over, the all-rounder receives a sum of Rs. 1.2 lakh for every ball he bowls.

The numbers are certainly mind-boggling considering the fact that every delivery that Morris bowls during IPL 2021 costs more than a lakh to Rajasthan Royals. While the 33-year-old did take 2 wickets in the opening match against Punjab Kings, he was a bit expensive as he conceded 41 runs in 4 overs. The franchise would certainly be hoping that they will get the expected return on investment during the course of the season from the most expensive signing in IPL ever.
