There are too many aspects of modern-day cricket which are making it all the more interesting. While at the core, it remains a battle between the bat and the ball, the marriage of technology and sport has given way to many more dynamics in the game. And now a captain and the team need to be wary of another skill on the cricket field, which is when to take the Decision Review System (DRS). Notably, while the main aim of this technology is to eliminate howlers, sometimes bizarre DRS calls make the team appear clueless

A similar incident unfolded in the 9th over of the Quetta Gladiators innings during their ongoing Pakistan Super League match against Quetta Gladiators. When Gladiators opener Jake Weatherald was looking good and was approaching his half-century, the fourth ball of this Rashid Khan over was a bit flighted but fuller in length. Weatherald almost played the perfect block as it was driven back towards the bowler. However, out of nowhere, Lahore skipper Sohail Akhtar went for a review only to be left embarrassed.

The batter, had, in fact, made a good connection with the ball and it took no time for the third umpire to go back to the on-field umpire and tell him to stay with his decision. Following the incident, the picture of the bizarre DRS call has gone viral.
