Delhi Capitals did not have the best of starts to their IPL 2022 campaign. In three matches before their match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, the Rishabh Pant-led side had just won a solitary match and faced defeats in their other two. However, in the big game against Kolkata, they managed to come to their own and register a comprehensive 44-run victory.
Kuldeep Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed were the stand-out performers with the ball. The two shared seven wickets between them with the left-arm pacer taking 3 wickets for 25 runs in a match where the opposition needed to go at close to 11 runs an over. The Capitals have now shared an Instagram post regarding Khaleel answering the call of his skipper.
In the post, it is being told that Pant called the bowler a night before the game to inform him that he would be in the Playing XI as the team banked on him to pick wickets. Later, Khaleel responded in style by his brilliant performance. The post seems symbolic of how the conversation might have looked like between the two.
