Road Safety World Series

A year after the inaugural season of the Road Safety World Series featuring retired cricketers, fresh reports have claimed that the second season will also feature prominent Bollywood celebrities. The capacity in which Bollywood celebrities will participate in the second edition of the league is yet not clear, but surely the inclusion of popular celebrities will add another feather to Road Safety World Series.

Earlier, SportsTiger confirmed that Lucknow will host the second edition of the T20 tournament which will undergo in September, this year. The inaugural edition of the series features big stars like master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Wasim Akram, Brian Lara, and others.

A total of seven teams participated namely India Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, South Africa Legends, Australia Legends, West Indies Legends, Bangladesh Legends and England Legends. Eventually, India Legends-led by Sachin Tendulkar emerged victorious after beating Sri Lanka Legends in the summit clash.

Reports have also claimed that New Zealand Legends are the new team in the second edition as they are set to debut in the series. The Road Safety World Series is being supported by the Ministry of Road Safety Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Information & Technology and Youth Affairs & Sports Government of India.

Organisers of the series have earlier claimed that the sole motive of organising such a star-studded T20 tournament is to kick start a drive at the national and international level towards road safety and change the outlook of people. Apart from Road Safety World Series, Legends League Cricket is another highly-anticipated T20 tournament, featuring retired cricketers that will take place in India.

LLC, Co-founder and CEO, Raman Raheja confirmed the development on Saturday by claiming that organisers have received several requests from the fans to organise the tournament in India.

“We received a constant request from cricket fans and they all requested us to organise the tournament in India. The country has always welcomed the sports and we are confident that it will be a huge success in its second edition,” said Raheja.
